CHEER LTD. INC.

  • Title: President/CEO
  • How long have you been with Cheer Ltd.? I founded the company in August of 1988, so I have served as President and CEO for 17 years.
  • Mission/main idea behind your company: Cheer Ltd. Inc. is committed to providing a full range of instructional services and premium events to the cheerleading market.  We believe in the inherent worth of sports involvement for young people, and we specifically support the wholesome and athletic benefits of cheerleading.
  • What does being a member of OSIP mean to you?  What was the reason you joined OSIP? Cheer Ltd. joined OSIP for two primary reasons: 1) we have great professional and personal respect for our colleagues in the cheerleading industry and welcome every opportunity to interact with them, and 2) we believe in the strength of consensus building to grow this market for all of us.
  • How does Cheer Ltd. and its products promote the spirit industry? In addition to being a member of OSIP, Cheer Ltd. is both a founding and company member to a few other spirit industry organizations.  We are especially proud to have worked with respected colleagues in the establishment of these trade organizations.  In addition, Cheer Ltd. hosts the annual National Cheer Conference (NCC).  This company is also a founding member of USASF, the industry leader in All Star cheerleading.  Serving on the USASF National Advisory Board and Sanctioning Committee provides Cheer Ltd. and opportunity to participate in the growth of this key segment of the cheerleading market.
  • Interesting fact about yourself: I have three consuming passions: my family, Cheer Ltd., and golf!
  • Interesting fact about Cheer Ltd.: Cheer Ltd. was named the North Carolina Small Business of the Year in 2003.
  • What would you like to see happen with OSIP in the coming year? I would very much like to see a strong alliance between spirit industry providers where we maximize the resources of our member companies and the benefits to our member companies.
  • Ideas/suggestions for the 2006 OSIP Conference: The OSIP team lead by Becky Gennings planned a great event last year -- keep up the good work!
