STEVE PETERSON
USASF

  • Title:
    * USASF Coaches Conference Chairman
    * The Cheerleading Worlds Director
    * USASF Board of Directors
    * Varsity Brands, Inc. Vice President of Championship Standards
  • How long have you been involved in the spirit industry?  I have been with the National Spirit Group and Varsity Brands, Inc. for going on 24 years.
  • Mission/main idea behind the USASF:  Meeting the needs of the All Star community and bringing legitimacy to the sport.  The mission of the U.S. All Star Federation is to maximize the number of participants benefiting from the positive life experiences of all star cheerleading and dance by developing competition rules and all star gym training guidelines consistent with the latest best known safety, educational, and ethical practices.
  • What does being a member of OSIP mean to you?  It's an honor to be involved with a trade association that provides the opportunity to keep our industry going strong through communication among all of our members who provide some type of service and/or product to our customers.
  • Why did you join OSIP?  And what does the USASF do to promote the spirit industry?  I personally became involved in the launch of OSIP because I believed in it's purpose and mission.  The USASF is proud to be a member company.  As a governing body authority for All Star Cheerleading, it is very important for us to stay up-to-date on what has been one of the fastest growing segments in the spirit industry.
  • Interesting fact about the USASF:  Thirteen months ago, we had six member companies.  We now have over 61!
  • What would you like to see happen with OSIP in the coming year? I would like to see over 100 companies represented at the annual Conference in September.
